Suggest recording phone conferences
Is it possible to have the phone conferences recorded and available for
review for those unable to attend a given meeting?
HOW:
The recording could be made available by the phone company hosting the
conf. call via a dial-up play-back system. If this method is chosen
then we could limit the availability of the recording to a one or two
week duration, depending on costs.
Another possibility is to create an MP3 of the recording and make it
available via the web site. Again, we can limit how long the recording
is made available, if necessary.
WHY:
While the minutes are useful as a synopsis of the meeting, the decisions
made, and the action items generated, discussion content is (and should
be) lacking.
For example, I was unable to attend meeting 1 but would like to have
heard the discussion on the status of the Verisity patents.
OTHER CONCERNS:
Even if we do make recordings available I do not suggest that we change
the voting requirements; ie., one must attend 3 out of last 4
meetings. We still need to encourage attendance so discussion is
meaningful.
